With its final episode before the Christmas break, NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon introduced viewers to the Westminster Thrust Ensemble ball bell choir.
Comprised of host Jimmy Fallon and a few other fellas, the intrepid ensemble wore handbells attached to their crotches, and then proceeded to “thrust” forth a most unusual take on the Yuletide classic “Silent Night.”
According to a setsider, Fallon explained to the show’s studio audience that he had long wanted to bring the Westminster Thrust Ensemble to fruition, but the its particular mechanics demanded “a lot of R&D.”
LateNighter can also exclusively report that Fallon assured onlookers that “yes, we’re all wearing cups” beneath the handbell rigs.
Watch the troupe’s full 90-second performance at the top of this post.
Trashy and very disrespectful using a religious song. if you feel the need do this asinine crap choose a song that does not have religious references. jimmy Fallon and the rest of the group should be ashamed.
Oh God, get over yourself!
That was tacky and low class! Exactly what one would expect from Fuckface Fallon!
I agree with you! Nobody knows how to have fun anymore…😮💨
Jimmy, used to think you are funny. It’s ok if you don’t believe what I do but that’s respecting my God. Won’t be watching you again.
I shall NEVER watch your show again. We’re celebrating the incarnation of the Son of God. your “musical entertainment”was sick.
I have heard this song played with “handbells” before, but this is definitely a new take. Not sure how it would go over with the Church Handbell Chior!!!
I just lost all respect for Jimmy Fallon.
A vulgar rendition of a song about the birth of Christ?!? I bet he wouldn’t do this to another religion. John 3:16
Thank you! My thoghts as well.
Silent Night is about Jesus Christ’s birth, the Savior of the world.
Even if you don’t believe that, how despicable to allow this presentation of this sacred song to be used like this on your show! For those who are christians it is taking innocent and pure and demeaning it. It is not just any song. It is not funny, except to those who make fun of and laugh at something that is beautiful and.sacred. to others
You or they could have picked “Jingle Bells”.
I would’t have laughed but I wouldn’t have been so outraged.
Make fun of Poliltical figures etc but not a sacred song that is so meaningful to all Christians.
