Daily Show senior correspondent Michael Kosta announced today that’s he’s written a new book that’s set to hit bookshelves in early 2025.
Kosta, a former tennis pro who was once ranked 864 in the world, followed something of a circuitous path to comedy. It’s this journey from tennis to comedy that forms the crux of his upcoming book.
“How did I end up in comedy if all I ever wanted to do was win Wimbledon, which I didn’t even come close to?” Kosta asked in a YouTube video announcing the new book this morning. “It’s in this book.”
Kosta spent two years as a tennis pro on the ITF and ATP tour from 2002-2004. In 2005, he began pursuing comedy, working as a standup comedian in Los Angeles. Following successful shots on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, Chelsea Lately, and Late Night With Seth Meyers, Kosta landed an episode of Comedy Central Presents, and a year later he joined The Daily Show under then-host Trevor Noah.
Today, Kosta is one of four correspondents who trade off Tuesday-Thursday hosting duties on The Daily Show. (Jon Stewart hosts the show on Mondays—or at least he will through the election.)
Appearing Monday on CBS Mornings, Kosta said of the book, “I’m very proud of it. Oh my god, I worked so hard on it.”
Kosta’s memoir, titled Lucky Loser: Adventures in Tennis and Comedy, will be released by Harper Influence March 11, 2025. It’s available for pre-order now wherever books are sold. Kosta is back behind The Daily Show desk Tuesday-Thurday of this week.
We shouldn’t be sacrificing trees just so this useless turd, who’s the absolute worst correspondent TDS has ever had as well as the poster child of white male privilege and entitlement, can write a book about how he’s a fraud who sucks at his job!
