Taylor Tomlinson is heading back to the studio for more fun, prizes, and haunted dolls. LateNighter has learned that After Midnight Season 2 is set to premiere on Tuesday, September 3 (one day after Labor Day) on CBS.
Fans hoping to catch a taping in person in Los Angeles can request tickets online now. Ticketing is open for September 3 and 4 and September 9 through 11. Shows take place at 3 p.m. PT, with an additional 7 p.m. PT taping on Wednesdays. Guests must be 18 or older to attend.
After Midnight is billed as a “high-octane game show” that sees Tomlinson lead a high-stakes panel “through the day’s internet news, mining comedy and commentary from all that dominates our social media feeds.” The series, which premiered in January, is a reboot of Comedy Central’s @midnight.
Panelists for After Midnight Season 2 have yet to be announced. Last season’s guests included celebrities such as “Weird Al” Yankovic, Dan Levy, Andy Richter, Chrissy Teigen, as well as mini cast reunions for All That and This Is Us.
Tomlinson is also plenty booked and busy outside of After Midnight. She recently announced the first set of dates for her “Save Me Tour,” which kicks off in Buffalo, New York on October 4 and concludes in May. The tour is slated to include 15 cities in total.
Currently, Tomlinson is the only female host in late-night television, which is no small feat. In an interview with Variety in July, the 30-year-old comedian opened up about the sage advice that Stephen Colbert—who serves as an executive producer on After Midnight—gave her about hosting.
“The most helpful thing [Colbert] said was, ‘You’re not going to be amazing right away,’” she said. “He let me know this will take a while to learn and not to expect to nail it in the first week. And that helped so much because I still feel like I’m learning how to do this job every day.”
After Midnight is filmed at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles.
