Sydney Sweeney-Hosted SNL Gains Total Viewers, Sheds P18-49 From Prior Week

The reviews for Sydney Sweeney’s debut as SNL host this past weekend ran the gamut from positive to negative. The viewership trends for Sweeney’s episode were similarly mixed.

The March 2, 2024 episode of Saturday Night Live, hosted by the Anyone But You star, averaged 4,025,000 total viewers and 838,000 P18-49 viewers, according to live-plus-same-day data from Nielsen. Those numbers will grow substantially as delayed viewing data trickles in over the next week.

Out of the 13 SNL episodes that have aired this season to-date, Sweeney’s episode comes in at No. 10 in total viewers, and gained +1%from the previous week’s edition of SNL (hosted by standup comic Shane Gillis). The show’s 838,000 P18-49 viewer live-plus-same-day average on March 2 also ranks No. 10 out of the show’s 13 episodes this season to-date, but is down -16% from what Gillis’ Feb. 24 episode hauled in.

Already, the 18-49 crowd is abandoning again as usual, while the pathetic old bags of gas are watching it for the host that will never have an affair with them!
