Stephen Colbert Gets a Funko Pop for Late Show 10th Anniversary

Stephen Colbert is about to hit a milestone on The Late Show, and he’s celebrating with something small, plastic, and collectible: his very own Funko Pop.

On Tuesday night’s show, Colbert told viewers that the vinyl figurine is being released to mark his tenth anniversary as host of The Late Show, which falls on September 8. “Our tenth anniversary’s a week from today… it has flown,” he said. “Here’s one thing that we’re doing. Do you know what a Funko Pop doll is? I thought I had one… I thought they had given me one for The Colbert Report. They didn’t. But I have one now.”

Colbert then brought out the figure for the audience to see. The mini-Colbert features his trademark glasses, well-coifed hair, and a Late Show mug. “The only thing that doesn’t work is that the ears are symmetrical,” he joked. “As we know… I’m a freak.”

The host wasn’t shy about deflating the collectible’s value. “Let’s lower that resale value right now,” he quipped as he unboxed the toy on camera.

As for when fans can get their hands on one, Colbert announced that preorders are open now on the Funko Pop website with the figurines set to ship on September 8, the show’s official anniversary. “It says here, ‘While supplies last.’ Maybe they made ten, I don’t know. I would jump on that,” he told his audience.

Other late-night hosts who have been memorialized by Funko Pop include John Oliver—who happened to be Colbert’s guest Tuesday night—and Conan O’Brien (who has at least three dozen Funko Pops to his name). The company has also produced 19 Funko Pops based on Saturday Night Live characters, including a dozen just last year comemorating with the show’s 50th season.
