SNL UK Is on Track for March 2026 Premiere, Seth Meyers Says

Saturday Night Live fans across the pond won’t have to wait too much longer for their own version of the iconic sketch comedy series. According to Seth Meyers, SNL UK is set to premiere in March 2026.

The Late Night host and former SNL head writer dropped the news on Tuesday’s Lonely Island and Seth Meyers Podcast (here, at the 6-minute mark) while recounting his recent trip to London. Asked by co-host Akiva Schaffer if he was “allowed to tell the other reason you were out there,” Meyers hinted his trip abroad was related to the much-anticipated SNL spinoff.

“I’m going to talk around it, because I can’t quite figure out what I’m supposed to say…,” Meyers admitted. “But I will say this: SNL UK is officially happening in March of next year, and it’s really exciting.”

UK broadcaster Sky, which is bringing SNL UK to the UK and Ireland, has yet to formally announce a launch date, and is not expected to until after New Year’s Day.

Continuing to “talk around” the details, Meyers teased what he might have been doing abroad. “If I was there for [SNL UK], I would probably meet a bunch of different British comedians,” he said.

Even so, it wouldn’t have been the first time Meyers connected with the SNL UK team. Last month, he revealed on the same podcast that SNL UK team members—including executive producer James Longman and director Liz Clare—spent time at 30 Rock shadowing the SNL production in early November, and that he was on hand for said visit. Lorne Michaels and others meanwhile visited the SNL UK production offices in London this past summer.

While in London earlier this month, Meyers also guested on the popular UK talker The Graham Norton Show for the first time, repaying the favor of Norton’s four visits to Late Night over the years. The topic of SNL UK, however, was not broached.
