Time to settle your bets. Saturday Night Live has finally announced its host and musical guest for its hotly anticipated Season 50 premiere.
Hacks star Jean Smart, who just took home her sixth Emmy Award on Sunday night, will make her SNL debut when she hosts the program on September 28. Country music rocker/rapper Jelly Roll—who had his own Emmys moment during the “In Memoriam” segment—will join Smart as the season’s first musical guest. It will be the Grammy-winning artist’s first time on the SNL stage as well.
But that’s not all. The show has also announced its hosts/musical guests through November 2.
The complete list follows below:
Oct. 5 – Nate Bargatze / Coldplay
Oct. 12 – Ariana Grande / Stevie Nicks
Oct. 19 – Michael Keaton / Billie Eilish
Nov. 2 – John Mulaney / Chappell Roan
Recent weeks have seen a flurry of announcements from the show and those associated with it, including the departures of cast members Punkie Johnson, Molly Kearney and Chloe Troast and the three new cast members who will fill their spots. The show’s writing staff has also seen some changes, with Alex English confirming his exit, and Cart Tart reportedly coming on board.
NBC and the show’s producers are pulling out all the stops for SNL‘s landmark 50th season, with plans to air multiple specials, documentaries and a three-hour SNL50 Primetime Special on February 16, 2025.
And those are just the show’s official plans. Other parallel projects include an authorized biography of the show’s enigmatic creator Lorne Michaels, and Jason Reitman’s feature film Saturday Night, which depicts the events leading up to the show’s very first episode in 1975.
Saturday Night Live‘s season premiere with Jean Smart and Jelly Roll airs September 28th starting at 11:30 p.m. ET/8:30 p.m. PT.
