Amid a soft week for late night, NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers stood alone as the only show to grow in both total viewers and the demo.
According to Nielsen Live+3 ratings data, CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert continued to lead the 11:35 p.m. hour in total viewers, averaging 2.40 million for the week (–2 percent). ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! followed with 2.17 million viewers (–5 percent).
Among adults 18–49, Jimmy Kimmel Live! again led the hour despite a double-digit drop, averaging 228,000 viewers (–13 percent) to Colbert’s 190,000 (–13 percent). NBC’s Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon was the only broadcast show at 11:35 to avoid a decline, holding steady in total viewers while rising 3 percent in the demo to 197,000 adults 18–49.
At 12:37 a.m., Late Night with Seth Meyers averaged 1.01 million total viewers (+3 percent) and 154,000 adults 18–49 (+2 percent), making it the only show among those we track to post week-to-week gains in both measures.
ABC’s Nightline averaged 998,000 total viewers (+2 percent) but declined 14 percent in the demo to 106,000 adults 18–49.
At 11:00 p.m., Comedy Central aired alternate programming in place of The Daily Show, which was dark for the week.
On cable, Fox News’ Gutfeld! again drew the largest overall audience among the shows we track, averaging 3.53 million total viewers (–5 percent) and 300,000 adults 18–49 (–5 percent) across five original episodes.
Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live averaged 329,000 total viewers (–10 percent) and 84,000 adults 18–49 (–8 percent).
