Weekly Ratings: Kimmel Dominates 11:35 as Colbert Slides

ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! led the 11:35 p.m. hour in both total viewers and the demo during the week of March 15, capitalizing on a disrupted week for CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! led the 11:35 p.m. hour in both total viewers and the demo during the week of March 15, capitalizing on a disrupted week for CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

CBS’ Late Show fell to 1.84 million total viewers (–23 percent) but still made a slight gain in the demo, averaging 196,000 adults 18–49 (+3 percent). The show aired three original episodes and two repeats during the week, with its Thursday and Friday rebroadcasts pushed to a 12:56 a.m. start due to CBS’ March Madness coverage—resulting in significantly lower audiences on both nights.

Kimmel, meanwhile, delivered consistent wins throughout the week, outdrawing Colbert across both ratings measures on four of five nights. Late Show’s only victory came Tuesday, when Colbert welcomed Elijah Wood, David Alan Grier, and a performance by Lea Michele and the Broadway cast of Chess.

NBC’s Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon averaged 1.34 million total viewers (–2 percent) and 169,000 adults 18–49 (–14 percent) across four original episodes and one repeat.

At 12:37 a.m., NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers averaged 941,000 total viewers (–7 percent) and 139,000 adults 18–49 (–10 percent). ABC’s Nightline averaged 1.02 million viewers (+2 percent) but declined 16 percent in the demo to 89,000 adults 18–49.

At 11:00 p.m., Comedy Central’s The Daily Show returned with four original episodes, averaging 846,000 total viewers and 187,000 adults 18–49. Week-to-week comparisons are unavailable as the program was dark the prior week.

On cable, Fox News’ Gutfeld! (which airs at 10 p.m. ET and 7 p.m. PT) delivered the largest overall audience among the shows we track, averaging 3.25 million total viewers (–8 percent) and 236,000 adults 18–49 (–21 percent) across five original episodes.

Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live averaged 368,000 total viewers (+12 percent) and 97,000 adults 18–49 (+15 percent).

Watch one live, watch the other on YouTube. It’s not a contest here.
Colbert generally has more interesting and significant guests, so it’s more convenient to watch through the show than find segments on YouTube. Plus… What A Band!!!

Please do a story about their future plans.

Why does little Jimmy Kimmel cry every night?

Kimmel’s audience is far smarter than Gutfool’s audience! Gutfool’s couldn’t crack the freezing mark if you gathered their IQs up!

Not the flex you think it is, loser!
