Chris Rock-Hosted SNL Sees Ratings Rebound

First on LateNighter: After hitting a historical low among 18-49 year-olds last week, Saturday Night Live saw its ratings raise alongside the return of former cast member Chris Rock.

Per Nielsen live-plus-same-day ratings data, Saturday’s Chris Rock-hosted episode drew an average 4,200 viewers ages 2+, and 817,000 viewers ages 18-49. That’s up 9% and 11% over last week, and fits the show’s historical seasonal trend, which typically sees episodes airing later in December improving upon poorer-rated episodes in November/early December.

If the trend holds, this coming week should see even greater numbers of viewers tuning in. Martin Short hosts this week with musical guest Hozier.
