Looking for the perfect holiday gift for your Letterman-obsessed friend or family member? Late night icon Paul Shaffer is making himself temporarily available on Cameo, giving fans the chance to get a personalized video message from a TV legend.
For a limited time, the former Late Night and Late Show with David Letterman musical director is offering birthday messages, pep talks, holiday greetings, advice, business promotions, and more. He’ll even “roast your best friend,” his Instagram story teases.
A video from Shaffer will set you back $150 a pop, but the proceeds go to a great cause. The musician joined Cameo to raise money for the animal rescue non-profit Pup Culture Rescue. The California-based organization was founded by Shaffer’s daughter, Victoria Lily Shaffer, in 2021.
It’s not the first time Shaffer has shown his support for Pup Culture Rescue. Earlier this year, he auctioned off the section of the Late Show with David Letterman marquee that touted the words “featuring Paul Shaffer and the CBS Orchestra,” with proceeds going to the animal charity.
If a video message from Shaffer isn’t enough for you, the musician is also auctioning off a private in-person lunch with him in either Los Angeles or New York via CharityBuzz. Also up for grabs in the charity auction is the chance to meet Steve Martin and Martin Short, four tickets to an Eagles show at the Las Vegas Sphere, and a reservation for eight at New York City restaurant Rao’s.
Those hesitant to splurge on a personalized video can also send Shaffer a text message on Cameo for $9.99. But whatever you decide, act fast—at press time, Shaffer’s video messages were nearly sold out.
