Marcello Hernández will follow up the biggest hosting gig of his career with a plate of increasingly punitive chicken wings.
One day after hosting the 2026 ESPY Awards live from New York on ABC Wednesday night, the Saturday Night Live cast member is set to make his Hot Ones debut.
The appearance will keep Hernández in familiar late-night-adjacent territory: A murderer’s row of nighttime stars has taken on the Wings of Death over the years, including a recent appearance by four of Hernández’s castmates on the spin-off series Hot Ones Ping Pong.
The original wing-eating-challenge program, hosted by Sean Evans, has been lampooned by Saturday Night Live multiple times in the past. Maya Rudolph played Beyoncé as a Hot Ones guest twice—once in 2021 and again last year. Mikey Day played Evans both times.
Hernández just completed his fourth season on SNL, where he has broken through with sketches including “Protective Mom,” “Immigrant Dad Talk Show,” and the “Domingo” series, along with regular appearances on “Weekend Update.” His debut Netflix standup special, American Boy, was released on the streaming service this past January.
Hernández’s episode of Hot Ones drops on the First We Feast YouTube channel this Thursday, July 16, at 11 a.m. ET/8 a.m. PT.
