Colbert Reveals Guest List For RNC Live Episodes

Ready or not, the Republican National Convention is right around the corner—and so is Stephen Colbert’s coverage of it.

Next week, Colbert will host a series of live The Late Show broadcasts to help make sense of the RNC. The stacked guest list includes a former Republican Congressman and two sitting Senate Democrats.

Illinois congressman-turned-political commentator Adam Kinzinger will guest on Monday, July 15, while Senators Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders are slated for the Tuesday, July 16 and Thursday, July 18 episodes, respectively. In between the politicians, Twisters star Glen Powell will shake things up with his guest spot on Wednesday, July 17.

Next week’s performers include Bikini Kill (July 15), Loudon Wainwright III (July 16), and Charlamagne tha God (July 17). OneRepublic will round out the lineup with a performance on July 18.

“Donald Trump—he is gearing up for next week’s Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, and The Late Show will be live, right there!” Colbert declared during Tuesday night’s monologue. “All next week, we’ll bring you all the latest updates from the event where you are disappointed but not surprised to see your brother-in-law.”

The episodes will be broadcast live for East Coast viewers, while West Coast audiences will have to wait. While this year’s RNC takes place in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, The Late Show will still air from the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York.

In April, Colbert announced that The Late Show will broadcast live from Chicago’s famed Auditorium Theater during the week of the Democratic National Convention, which kicks off on Monday, August 19.

“I am very excited to broadcast from the beautiful Auditorium,” Colbert said. “I started my career in Chicago; let’s see if I can end it there.”
