With less than two months to go before The Late Show with Stephen Colbert signs off on May 21, the show’s farewell fundraising effort is closing in on a major milestone.
According to sales data from eBay, The Late Show has now sold more than 29,300 commemorative “Last Show” T-shirts at $40 apiece, with $20 from each purchase benefiting chef José Andrés’ World Central Kitchen. That puts the charitable take from shirt sales alone at $586,000.
Combined with the $400,000+ previously raised through the show’s ongoing memorabilia auctions, Colbert’s final-season fundraising push is now nearing $1 million in total donations to World Central Kitchen—with more than half of that sum coming from T-shirt sales.
The shirts, unveiled in mid-March as part of the show’s recurring “Late Show Home Shopping” segments, feature a modified version of the show’s logo reading The Last Show with Stephen Colbert on the front. The back adds a pointed punchline: “Thanks for watching! (Unless you watched on YouTube, the network couldn’t monetize that.)”
Colbert highlighted the strong demand during Monday night’s broadcast. “I’m proud to say that in just the week and a half since we unveiled them, we have sold—a lot of them,” he said. Since that on-air mention, the show has sold an additional 5,000 shirts, according to eBay sales data.
The shirts are being sold via the show’s eBay storefront alongside a steady stream of auction items, including a pair of newly added artifacts dating back to the show’s 2015 premiere.

I’m grateful I was able to add to this great cause. Jose is a hero
Good to see Colbert will still have work selling T-shirts after CBS kicks him to the curb.
Stephen i avoided late shows for years my mother never stopped watching Johnny, merv, David …until this world turned political and it now consumes me..I have your shirt I will cancel Paramount as soon as your off.. I’m sorry this shit is happening to you.. thanks for standing up..keep up the fight
fight? Dems say that is inciting violence what changed
Learn to grow up, mmkay?
Bless you Stephen. Your razor wit and gravitas- enough to get you to that White House press dinner!- has been my prop and support thru bad times. Keep up the fight. and Paramount can get bent!
Colbert has always been a class act which is more than I can say about the malevolent POS at CBS. I HOPE THAT BEND-THE-KNEE bunch that kissed trumps ass go down in flames, WHICH APPARENTLY THEY ARE. Trump will be gone and takes your reputation with him. What a bunch of inept execs you hired. Adios.
We’ll miss you Stephen💜
Would make a nice looking grease rag.
You’re a hater!
I just bought “The Last Show with Stephen Colbert” T-Shirt.
The conversion to Canadian dollars made it quite expensive, and very much still worth it. Great cause. So sad to see Stephen leave. Can’t still process that right now.
Stephen, I’m sorry to see you go! I have been a devoted CBS viewer but with recent events and including the cancellation of your show, I have completely lost all respect, trust and faith in the CBS network! I do not even watch the shows I dearly love and enjoyed watching, not to mention respect or trust the news that is reported from CBS! I trust that I am not alone in this thinking. CBS….your network will fail and you only have yourselves to blame! Stephen, I wish you well in your new endeavors . I’m sure you will be successful wherever or whatever you do!
