CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert returned on Monday after a dark week, and promptly won the 11:35 p.m. ratings race.
Per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data, The Late Show averaged 1,982,000 total viewers and 207,000 P18-49 viewers on Monday, April 29, 2024. That’s up +42% in total viewers and +0.5% among P18-49 compared to the previous Monday (April 22), which featured a repeat. Jean Smart, and Gayle Rankin were Colbert’s guests this past Monday.
NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! split second place in the 11:35 p.m. timeslot.
Back with a new episode after two consecutive dark weeks, The Tonight Show averaged 1,114,000 total linear viewers and 187,000 P18-48 viewers this past Monday at 11:35 p.m. That’s up +1% and +15%, respectively, from the previous Monday’s telecast (a repeat). Anne Hathaway, Melanie Lynskey were Fallon’s guests on Monday. Lang Lang performed.
Jimmy Kimmel Live! averaged 1,383,000 total viewers and 185,000 P18-49 viewers this past Monday. That’s -21% in total viewers, but +21% in P18-49 viewers from the previous Monday. Emily Blunt, and Owen Teague were Kimmel’s guests. Carin León and Leon Bridges performed.
After Kimmel, ABC’s Nightline averaged 725,000 total viewers and 108,000 P18-49 viewers at 12:37 a.m. That represents a -19% drop in total viewers but no change in P18-49 viewers from the Monday before.
NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers returned on Monday with a new episode. It averaged 774,000 total viewers and 132,000 P18-49 viewers at 12:36 a.m. That represents a +12% gain in total viewers, and an +18% gain in P18-49 viewers from the previous Monday telecast (a repeat). Jim Gaffigan, Charli XCX, and Troye Sivan were Meyers’ guests on Monday. Queen Cora Coleman sat in with the 8G Band.
CBS’ After Midnight is dark this week. The show aired its March 13, 2024 episode this past Monday, and it averaged just 591,000 total viewers with 99,000 P18-49 viewers at 12:37 a.m. That’s -4% in total viewers and -25% in P18-49 viewers from the previous Monday, which featured a new episode.
Comedy Central’s The Daily Show is dark this week, and did not air on Monday.
