Late Night Ratings: Friday, Feb. 23, 2024

Note: LateNighter generally posts late night ratings on a two (business) day delay, which is how they are released by Nielsen.

ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! continued to average the largest total audience and largest P18-49 audience in late night as it closed out what was a dark week for Kimmel’s 11:35 p.m. competitors.

The Friday, Feb. 23, 2024 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! averaged 1,954,000 total viewers, which was the show’s largest audience of the week, +17% from the night before, and +54% from the previous Friday night (Feb. 16), which was a repeat. JKL also averaged 211,000 P18-49 viewers on Thursday, slightly down from the night before (-3%) but a +12% improvement from the week-ago episode.

Friday’s edition of Jimmy Kimmel Live! featured guest appearances from Selena Gomez, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.

NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert split second place in the Friday ratings race. The Tonight Show presented a repeat of its Jan. 26, 2024 episode, averaging 1,043,000 total viewers and 185,000 P18-49 viewers, which is -12% and -11%, respectively, from the previous night’s repeat episode. The Tonight Show aired an original episode the previous Friday.

The Late Show presented its Jan. 25, 2024 episode this past Friday. It averaged 1,282,000 total viewers and 136,000 P18-49 viewers, +7% and +6%, respectively, from the previous night’s repeat episode, -19% and -20%, respectively, from the previous Friday’s repeat episode.

Hitting fast-forward, at 12:37 a.m., a new episode of ABC News’ Nightline averaged 1,055,000 total viewers and 116,000 P18-49 viewers. That’s up +27% and +6%, respectively, from the previous night’s installment, +43% and +16%, respectively, from the week-ago installment; both of which were originals.

NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers (a repeat of its Jan. 7, 2024 episode) averaged 660,000 total viewers and 146,000 P18-49 viewers at 12:37 a.m. That’s -12% and -5%, respectively, from the previous night’s repeat, +1% and +4%, respectively, from the previous Friday’s repeat. Late Night’s 146,000 P18-49 average is actually more than what The Late Show drew for its Friday repeat.

CBS’ After Midnight, also a repeat (Feb. 7, 2024 episode), came in third with an average of 564,000 total viewers and 84,000 P18-49 viewers at 12:37 a.m., +10% and +22%, respectively, from the previous night’s repeat episode, -26% and -22%, respectively, from the previous Friday’s repeat episode.
