He’s often seen courtside at Laker games, but it turns out Josh Brolin is a bit of a dunker himself.
In a just-released promo for this week’s Saturday Night Live, Studio 8H is transformed into a pick up basketball court, where Brolin takes on SNL featured players Molly Kearney and Devon Walker with unexpected ferocity.
The promo begins innocently enough, with Brolin stumbling across Walker and Kearney as they casually shoot baskets.
“Hey guys, playing some hoops?” asks Brolin. “Oh, hey Josh. Want to play?” Walker responds, passing him the ball.
From there in, it’s game on. “Check-up chumps,” declares Brolin as he aggressively takes on the duo, channeling Kareem and, uh, Thanos, before dousing himself in Gatorade and screaming “anything’s possible!”
This weekend will be Brolin’s third time standing at homebase on SNL. The Dune: Part Two star last hosted the show in 2012. He’ll be joined by musical guest Ariana Grande, who also returns the show for the third time.
