Jon Stewart continues to take some big swings Monday nights on The Daily Show. Fresh off the Middle East last week, he’s set to tackle another simple problem tonight: immigration.
Joining Stewart on tonight’s show is New Yorker staff writer Jonathan Blitzer, whose new book “Everyone Who Is Gone Is Here” explores the roots of the current crisis at the U.S. southern border.
Blitzer’s booking sees Stewart continue to eschew celebrity guests in favor of journalists who can speak substantively on a pressing topic.
Comedy Central also announced Monday that TDS correspondent Ronny Chieng will host the show Tuesday-Thursday of this week. His guests are set to include Chelsea Peretti and Awkwafina.
Interest in The Daily Show has hit a fever pitch since Stewart’s return last month. Although last week’s Week 3 numbers were down from Weeks 1 and 2, the show is still pulling in twice as many total viewers since last fall.
Ok, I know he wrote a book on it, but Wolf Blitzer?
