Jon Stewart Returns to Daily Show Tonight, Jordan Klepper to Host Tues-Thurs

Jon Stewart will be back behind The Daily Show anchor desk tonight, with the show’s regular Monday night host set to interview Canadian economist Mark Carney.

This week’s Tuesday through Thursday host will be Jordan Klepper. Klepper’s guests will include actor Boyd Holbrook on Tuesday, comedian/actor ALLOK on Wednesday, and Rep. Tom Suozzi (D-NY) on Thursday.

It was 26 years ago this week that Jon Stewart hosted his very first episode of The Daily Show. We’ll see if he acknowledges the anniversary on tonight’s show.

Stewart’s return to the Comedy Central series last year helped propel the show to ratings heights not seen since his departure in 2015, with The Daily Show growing its average nightly audience by a whopping 82% year-over-year.

Although his return was originally announced through Election Day 2024, Comedy Central announced late last year that Stewart would be sticking around through at least the end of 2025.

Klepper began his own initial stint at The Daily Show in 2014 when Stewart was still host, and stayed on through the early part of Trevor Noah’s run at the show, leaving in 2017 to host his own satirical news show The Opposition with Jordan Klepper. He returned to The Daily Show as a contributor in 2019 and has hosted several Fingers the Pulse specials in which he’s embedded himself in the MAGA movement.

As a Canadian I was quite surprised to see Mark Carney as his guest. I appreciate the humour side of the interview but at times John was not letting some solid answers I wanted to hear be told. Still it gave me a bit of hope as Mark at least would be a desirable option to PP as our next Prime Minister.
