Jimmy Kimmel Live! Sets Brooklyn Return, Stephen Colbert to Guest

Jimmy Kimmel Live! is heading back to its host’s hometown for a special week of shows later this month.

Jimmy Kimmel will once again bring his late-night show to the Brooklyn Academy of Music, with a run of on-the-road episodes from Monday, September 29 through Friday, October 1.

Kimmel announced the trip during Tuesday’s season premiere of JKL—his first night back after a two-month summer break. The week will mark the show’s seventh visit to Brooklyn, where Kimmel was born and spent his early childhood.

While JKL typically airs four new episodes a week, Kimmel will tape five shows during his latest Brooklyn run.

Kimmel also revealed one of the week’s bookings: fellow late-night host Stephen Colbert, in what’s set to be Colbert’s first TV appearance outside his own program since CBS cancelled The Late Show earlier this summer. Even while on vacation, Kimmel rallied to Colbert’s defense when the news broke, posting on Instagram: “Love you Stephen. F*ck you CBS and all your Sheldons.”

The rest of Kimmel’s Brooklyn lineup has yet to be announced, but past guests have included David Letterman, Jon Stewart, Howard Stern, Jay-Z, Michael J. Fox, and Bernie Sanders.

Ticket requests for Jimmy Kimmel Live!’s Brooklyn shows are open now through the show’s ticketing partner, 1iota.
