Jimmy Fallon Drops in on TikTok DJ’s Livestream

A TikTok DJ who spins 70s and 80s hits on a video livestream Tuesday and Thursday nights got quite the surprise late last night after Jimmy Fallon apparently stumbled across his show and loved it so much that he shared the link with his 49.8 million followers on Twitter/X.

“Listening to this right now,” Fallon posted. “This guy is great. Any song. Request. Have fun.”

For the next 45 minutes, Fallon interacted with fans in the show’s live chat while requesting a few choice cuts himself, including Pete Wingfield’s “Eighteen With a Bullet” and “Somebody’s Watching Me” by Rockwell.

The DJ, who goes by the handle @retroradiowave on TikTok seemed as surprised as anyone else in to see Fallon in the chatstream.

“Jimmy Fallon, what an honor to hang out with you,” he said at the show’s end.

“We all loved you. Thank you,” replied Fallon.

As regular viewers of The Tonight Show already know, Fallon is an avid fan of 80s music who seems to relish the opportunity to incorporate the songs of his youth into his show.

It was just last month that he took to the roof of 30 Rock to perform a cover of Bonnie Tyler’s 1983 power ballad “Total Eclipse of the Heart” with the band Heart, during the solar eclipse.

He also memorably collaborated with Paul Pudd on a shot-by-shot remake of the video for Dead or Alive’s 1985 hit “You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)”

Now that he’s found it, will Fallon make a habit of popping in on retroradiowave’s twice weekly TikTok show? Time will tell.
