Yes, it’s yet another Jimmy Fallon Christmas project, but this one has nothing to do with his holiday album.
The Tonight Show host plays a key role in comedian and actor Jack Whitehall’s new Christmas special for Prime Video, Jack in Time for Christmas.
The special, which finds Whitehall trekking home from the US to the UK for Christmas, begins with Fallon ensnaring Whitehall to do his holiday bidding. Having just wrapped an appearance on The Tonight Show, Whitehall finds out his flight home has been cancelled. Fallon offers Whitehall a ride to the airport after he finishes hand-delivering some Christmas presents. Whitehall agrees, not realizing the trip requires dozens of stops across the country, and that he’ll be making it without Fallon.
“It really adds to the gifts to have a personalized delivery from the guy that was in Jungle Cruise and Paddington,” Fallon tells him.
When Whitehall clarifies that he wasn’t in the latter film, Fallon is surprised. “Really?” he asks. “Every British actor was in Paddington.”
Fallon defends himself after a frustrated Whitehall pushes back on carrying out his favor for the host. “You said on the show that you were working with Amazon!” Fallon tells him.
“Making a Christmas special for Amazon,” Whitehall responds. “Not working as a delivery driver!”

In reality, Whitehall never teased his holiday special on Fallon’s show—but if wardrobe is any indication, the bit was likely filmed during Whitehall’s last appearance on The Tonight Show back in February.
Fallon isn’t the only big name appearing in the special. Whitehall’s misadventures across the U.S. see him also run into the likes of Michael Bublé, Dave Bautista, and Rebel Wilson.
As it happens, Whitehall’s holiday special dropped on Tuesday December 3th, just a day before Fallon’s own primetime holiday special on NBC, Jimmy Fallon’s Holiday Season Spectacular. While it drew mixed reviews online, Fallon’s special walloped the competition, drawing more viewers in the key 18-49 demo than his competition on ABC and CBS combined.
Jack in Time for Christmas is available for streaming on Prime Video, while Fallon’s Holiday Season Spectacular streams on Peacock.
