Jennifer Coolidge Cancels Late Show With Stephen Colbert Appearance

It’s not clear why, but Jennifer Coolidge will not be appearing as planned on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert Tuesday night.

Instead, the show air a new installment of “The Colbert Questionert” with Drew Barrymore. Barrymore’s appearance was taped when she guested with Colbert in late January.

Coolidge was scheduled to visit with Colbert to promote her starring role in the new crime comedy Riff Raff, which opens in theaters Friday.

Though the actress and Emmy winner for The White Lotus has previously guested on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, tonight would have been her first Late Show appearance.

Coolidge has also cancelled a scheduled appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show later this week.

We’ve reached to reps for The Late Show and Roadside Attractions (which is releasing Riff Raff) for comment, and will update this post if/when more is revealed.

While Coolidge apparently won’t be appearing on late-night TV this week, she was memorably portrayed by three different people at the same time on Saturday Night Live recently, when Chloe Fineman, Ariana Grande, and Dana Carvey teamed up to play her in a Maybelline-themed sketch that aired in October.

Coolidge herself has had a couple of near-misses with SNL in the past. She was scheduled to host the show just as the Writer’s Strike shut down production on the show in 2023. And she was among a number of stars whose unsuccessful auditions for the show were featured in an episode of the Peacock docuseries SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night. (Collidge tried out for the show in 1995.)

I hope she is alright. Seems unlike her to cancel her appearances.
