A beloved funnyman and a veteran media exec will match wits with the Have I Got News for You panelists when CNN‘s comedy panel show opens Season 4 this weekend.
Produced by Hat Trick Productions for CNN Originals, Have I Got News for You returns this Saturday, January 24 at 9 p.m. ET, with episodes available to stream the next day for CNN’s streaming subscribers and on HBO Max.
Roy Wood Jr. serves as host of the Stateside adaptation of the long-running UK comedy series, while Amber Ruffin and Michael Ian Black act as team captains.
The first guests to be paired with Ruffin and Black for Season 4 are Andy Richter, the comedian and actor best known as Conan O’Brien’s counterpart on Late Night with Conan O’Brien, The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien, and Janice Min, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of Ankler Media and a former co-president of the Hollywood Reporter-Billboard Entertainment Group.
Since premiering in September 2024, the U.S. port of Have I Got News for You has been a bright spot for CNN, drawing strong ratings on Saturday nights—traditionally a dead zone for cable news—and sometimes outperforming the network’s weekday primetime lineup.
While HIGNFY technically airs in primetime, it leans heavily into late-night sensibilities. The panel format, irreverent tone, and staffing lineup all draw from the DNA of traditional late-night comedy.
Notable guests from Season 3 included U.S. Representative Jasmine Crockett, former U.S. Representative Adam Kinzinger, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel, Joy Reid, Kara Swisher, Jennifer Welch, Alex Edelman, Dave Foley, Julia Ioffe, Bomani Jones, Lewis Black, Paula Poundstone, Mae Martin, Gianmarco Soresi, and Jenny Hagel, and more.
