Guillermo Rodriguez Shaves His Moustache For Pringles

A series of online ads for Pringles has robbed Jimmy Kimmel Live! sidekick Guillermo Rodriguez of his trademark facial hair.

In three Reels posted to JKL’s Facebook and Rodriguez’s Instagram over the past several days, Jimmy Kimmel’s security guard-sidekick is forced to chase his mustache around New Orleans after a mishap at the hands of show announcer Lou Wilson.

The spots tie into Pringles’ “Call of the Mustaches” Super Bowl commercial, which features famous mustachioed men—from Nick Offerman and James Harden to Mr. Potato Head Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid—losing their mustaches after Adam Brody blows into an empty Pringles can. (The ad, which culminates in flying mustaches, is not to be confused with the other flying facial hair-based commercial that aired last night, wherein Eugene Levy lost his eyebrows for Little Caesars.)

The consequences of the “Call of the Mustaches” begins for Rodriguez when Wilson eats his last chip, then decides to attempt the call he “saw[…] during the Pringles Big Game commercial.”

“That’s my moneymaker!” Rodriguez exclaims before running off to New Orleans—host city of Super Bowl LIX—to find his stache.

A subsequent man-on-the-street clip finds Rodriguez hanging up “missing” posters for the mustache and enlisting help from others on Bourbon Street.

That search continues in a third video, to no avail.

While Rodriguez wasn’t a part of Pringles’ centerpiece ad, it seems more is on the way.

“To be continued…” the most recent ad promises. Further updates on Rodriguez’ mustache may may be seen in future social videos, but it’s always possible that Kimmel will devote some time to it tonight on JKL. Stay tuned.
