The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon is elevating two longtime members of its digital unit, tapping Erin Clewell and Joseph Ferraro to serve as co-heads of digital as the NBC late-night franchise continues to lean into its social media dominance.
Clewell announced the news on Instagram, revealing her new title as Co-Head of Digital/Senior Digital Producer. Ferraro, a veteran digital producer with the show, will share leadership of the team.
The appointments follow the departure of supervising producer and head of digital Nick Dyer, who exited the show in February after a five-year run that helped transform The Tonight Show into a social media powerhouse.
During his tenure, the show amassed tens of billions of views across platforms and built one of the most sophisticated digital operations in late night. The Tonight Show ‘s celebrity-driven backstage segments and platform-specific content regularly generate viral moments and extend the show’s reach far beyond its linear broadcast.
In her post, Clewell noted that the show has already generated 3 billion views across platforms in 2026.
Clewell’s promotion also marks a full-circle moment: she began her career as an intern on the show’s social team eight years ago. In her announcement, she praised Ferraro as a longtime collaborator and thanked Dyer for his mentorship, while also highlighting the broader team behind the show’s digital output, including Maila Turano, Kiyana Marsh, Katie Benson, Kali D’Agostinis, and Abby Grunzinger.
