Ego Nwodim to Guest Host Today With Jenna and Friends

Ego Nwodim is bringing her late-night talents to morning television.

The Saturday Night Live star will co-host Today with Jenna & Friends alongside Jenna Bush Hager next week, the morning show has announced.

Today with Jenna & Friends is the new show airing in the fourth hour of Today; the slot was occupied by Today with Hoda & Jenna until Hager’s co-host, Hoda Kotb, exited the franchise earlier this month.

The rebranded hour is positioning Hager alongside a rotating lineup of guest hosts until a permanent co-host is found. Since debuting on January 13, those guest hosts have included Taraji P. Henson, Keke Palmer, Eva Longoria, and Scarlett Johansson (who brought on husband Colin Jost for a surprise drop-in).

Next week is an opportune time for Nwodim to take on the weeklong gig. SNL has paused production on new episodes while it gears up for its 50th anniversary special later next month. Outside of SNL, Nwodim also hosts her own podcast, Thanks Dad.

Nwodim isn’t the only SNL cast member appearing on another NBC show next week, with Kenan Thompson and Marcello Hernández set to visit The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon together on Thursday, February 6th. Expect to see more SNL stars on Today, Tonight, and across the media landscape the following week in the lead-up up the show’s three-hour primetime anniversary special on February 16th.

Nwodim’s week on Jenna & Friends begins Monday, February 3rd at 10 AM ET.
