Ego Nwodim and Mikey Day are squeezing in a comedy show together ahead of Saturday Night Live’s 50th season.
The SNL cast mates have announced a joint show at Montgomery College in Maryland on September 10. The duo will perform “an evening of stand-up comedy,” according to Montgomery Community Media.
Comedian Amy Silverberg will open the show, to be held at the college’s Robert E. Padilla Performing Arts Center in Rockville, Maryland, located less than 20 miles north of Washington, DC.
Day has been with SNL since 2013, when he was hired as a writer ahead of the series’ 39th season; he became a featured player in 2016. Nwodim—a Maryland native who hails from nearby Baltimore—has been a cast member since Season 44, which kicked off on September 29, 2018. Both Nwodim and Day are set to return for the show’s 50th season this fall, which typically begins in October.
Days before her show with Day, Nwodim will take the stage in Connecticut with another castmate. She’s co-headlining a sold-out show with Heidi Gardner at the Ridgefield Playhouse on September 6.
And they’re not the only Saturday Night Live players devoting part of their time off to standup.
The trio of James Austin Johnson, Devon Walker, and Andrew Dismukes are currently embarking on their “Summer Jobs” tour. Sarah Sherman is on a tour of her own through August, and Michael Longfellow is on the road as well.
