Donald Trump to Guest on Gutfeld! Tonight

Late-night TV’s lone defender of Donald Trump is set to host the former president on his show tonight.

Trump taped the appearance with Greg Gutfeld in front of a live studio audience this afternoon before heading to Long Island for a campaign rally.

According to a Fox News, Trump spent the full hour in conversation with Gutfeld and regular Gutfeld! panelists Kat Timpf, Tyrus and Fox News Outnumbered co-host Emily Compagno.

Trump, who was once a regular on late-night TV (he logged 30+ appearances with David Letterman alone) hasn’t guested on any of the traditional late night shows since before he won the presidency in 2016. That’s not to say he hasn’t continued to be a late-night TV fixture, with jokes at his expense often commanding a majority of air time in each of the show’s monologues.

Although this will be his first in-studio appearance on Gutfeld!, he’s friendly with the Fox News host. Late last month, cameras caught Gutfeld speaking with Trump on his cell phone as the show returned from commercial break.

2024 has been very good to Gutfeld!, which is delivering its most-watched year in program history. In the third quarter to date, the show has averaged 2.7 million total viewers and 408,000 in the 25-54 demo per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. As Fox News and Gutfeld’s legion of fans are quick to point out, that’s more than each of the more left-leaning traditional late-night shows, although Gutfeld! benefits from an earlier start time, airing at 10 pm in the east and 7 pm in the west.
