Comedy Central’s “Best F**king News Team” is back to work today, to in part unpack and scrutinize the early repercussions of the joint US-Israeli attacks on Iran.
Jon Stewart kicks things off with The Daily Show‘s Monday-night host set to sit down with Jafar Panahi, the director and co-writer of It Was Just an Accident, a winner of the Palme d’Or at Cannes. Pahani is an avowed critic of the Iranian government, and was jailed years ago for making a film about that country’s disputed 2009 presidential election.
Senior Daily Show correspondent Michael Kosta will then take the desk Tuesday through Thursday.
Kosta’s guest on Tuesday will be filmmaker Geeta Gandbhir, who’s out promoting The Perfect Neighbor, a documentary about a minor disagreement between neighbors in Florida that takes a lethal turn.
On Wednesday, Kosta welcomes Erika Alexander, co-star of the Tracy Morgan-led NBC sitcom The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins—on which Kosta himself guest stars.
And then on Thursday, Kosta will sit down with librarian and literacy advocate Mychal Threets, who’s touring with his new, best-selling children’s book I’m So Happy You’re Here: A Celebration of Library Joy.
The Daily Show airs weeknights at 11 p.m, ET/PT on Comedy Central, and is available to stream next day on Paramount+
