It’ll be four nights, four hosts for The Daily Show this midterms week, as Jon Stewart and three of the show’s correspondents each take a night behind the desk.
Stewart will open the week Monday, followed by Ronny Chieng on Election Night Tuesday, Michael Kosta on Wednesday, and Jordan Klepper on Thursday.
Stewart kicks things off tonight with author Michael Lewis, who will be on to promote his new book, Blockers.
Chieng gets Election Night Tuesday, welcoming novelist Min Jin Lee, author of the new book American Hagwon. But because The Daily Show tapes before polls close, Tuesday’s episode won’t be able to respond to the night’s results.
That leaves Kosta with what will effectively be the show’s post-midterms episode Wednesday. His guest is Harvard Kennedy School political scientist Erica Chenoweth, author of Civil Resistance: What Everyone Needs to Know.
Klepper closes out the week Thursday with hip-hop pioneer Grandmaster Flash, who will promote his new memoir, Birth of a Culture.
The one-host-per-night lineup is a departure from The Daily Show’s usual schedule, though not an unprecedented one. Since Jon Stewart returned to the show, he has generally hosted Mondays, with one of the show’s correspondents taking over for the remainder of the week. Stewart recently extended his deal to continue hosting Mondays through 2028, while members of the news team will continue rotating behind the desk Tuesday through Thursday.
The Daily Show airs weeknights at 11 p.m. ET/PT on Comedy Central, with episodes streaming the following day on Paramount+.
