Colbert Thursday Switcheroo: Cory Booker Out, Rebecca Ferguson In

Duty calls for Senator Cory Booker today, forcing a last minute change in the lineup for The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.

Booker had been, um, booked to appear with Colbert this evening, but with the House expected to soon vote on a stopgap funding bill and it likely to go to the Senate later today or tommorow, the senator will remain in Washington. A rep for Booker told us he hopes to be back with Colbert sometime soon.

Stepping in for Booker on Colbert tonight is Rebecca Ferguson. The Swedish actress stars in Dune: Part Two, which opens in theaters tomorrow.

Ferguson set tongues wagging earlier this week after she effectively dropped her own blind item, telling another interviewer that an unnamed actor once screamed and mistreated her in front of the crew on a previous film.

Given Ferguson’s many big name screen partners–including Tom Cruise, Hugh Jackman, Dwayne Johnson, and Emily Blunt — much speculation has followed over just who this “absolute idiot” actor (as Ferguson described them) might be.

Here’s guessing Colbert will try to get to the bottom of it.
