She’s CNN’s Chief International Anchor, hosts two shows for the cable news network, and one for PBS, but tonight Christiane Amanpour is taking her act to Comedy Central.
Amanpour is set to sit down with Jon Stewart tonight on The Daily Show. It will be her fifth time appearing on the show–she guested twice with Stewart during his initial run on the show, and appeared three times when Trevor Noah was behind the Daily Show desk.
Tonight’s show will mark Stewart’s eighth episode since returning to The Daily Show anchor desk Monday nights in February.
Stewart’s Monday nights have proven to be a huge draw for the Comedy Central series, drawing 2-3 times the number of total viewers the show was averaging last fall per live-plus-same-day Nielsen ratings (and even more in delayed viewing). The show has also seen a halo effect on nights the Stewart isn’t hosting, with ratings up on non-Stewart nights by 30-50%.
