Guest hosting Jimmy Kimmel Live! Monday night for the 21st time, Anthony Anderson closed out his monologue with a setup straight out of the Kimmel playbook: hit the streets, ask a question, and let the comedy find you.
Last night’s question: What’s the whitest thing about you? As Anderson explained, the segment was directed specifically at Black folks on Hollywood Boulevard. (To do the opposite, he joked, would have been racist.)
One man confessed to a love of pumpkin spice. A woman cited the fact that she’s vegan. Someone else sang a bit of “The Rocky Road to Dublin” while praising Irish folk songs.
But the crown jewel came courtesy of a Black Friends superfan who, when asked which were her favorite episodes, delivered a passionate recap of half the series—highlighting the one where Monica and Chandler get together, the one where Joey finds out, and of course the one where Phoebe sings “Smelly Cat.”
Just when it seemed like the segment had hit peak overshare, a familiar face strolled into frame: Chris Rock.
“The whitest thing about me?” he said, smirking. “That would have to be my [bleep].”
Rock has made half a dozen visits to Kimmel over the years. Last night’s was his first appearance since a 2022 “Mean Tweets” segment. Watch his JKL man-on-the-street moment below:
