Chloe Fineman Departs SNL After a Seven-Season Run

Saturday Night Live is losing one of its most prolific impressionists with Chloe Fineman leaving the legendary sketch show ahead of the show’s 52nd season.

A gifted sketch performer who came to SNL in 2019 following stints at The Groundlings and the UCB, Fineman made her mark on the show with her pitch-perfect portrayals of Britney Spears, Scarlett Johansson, and Timothee Chalamet.

In all, she’s appeared in 135 Saturday Night Live episodes, playing key roles in some of the show’s buzziest sketches including “Bridesmaid Speech” (aka “Domingo”) and “Traffic Altercation,” alongside Mikey Day.

Recent years have seen Fineman appear in several prominent projects outside of SNL, including voice roles on Big Mouth and The Simpsons and a starring role in the Hulu film Summer of 69.

Fineman made her feature film debut in the 2022 Netflix comedy Home Team starring Kevin James and SNL alum Rob Schneider. That same year she played Marion Davies in Damien Chazelle’s Babylon. More recent movie credits include Megalopolis and Despicable Me and Freakier Friday.

She recently shot a role in the upcoming film comedy, Red, White & Royal Wedding and Fineman is reportedly is in negotiations to appear in the new Netflix Harlan Coben drama series Myron Bolitar.

UPDATE: Fineman confirmed her departure on Instagram minutes after this post was published, writing, “After 7 wonderful seasons at SNL I have decided it’s time for my next chapter.”

Calling her time on the show “the greatest privilege of my life,” Fineman thanked Lorne Michaels—jokingly addressing his “burner account”—and reflected on the intense emotional investment that goes into producing SNL each week.

“It’s really hard to leave SNL but it does feel like the right time,” she wrote. “I’m going to miss it a lot. But the people who work there are my family and that place is my home, and I know I’ll never be too far away.”
