Saturday Night Live cast member Chloe Fineman has booked her next film role, and this time she’ll be appearing alongside another familiar face for longtime SNL fans.
The Dink stars Jake Johnson as a has-been tennis pro who reluctantly takes up pickleball in order to save a sports club and impress his father.
Fineman was among seven actors officially added to the cast of the sports comedy late Monday, alongside SNL alum Chris Parnell, Patton Oswalt, Aaron Chen, Martin Kove, Christine Taylor, and John McEnroe.
McEnroe is one of at least two real tennis pros who will appear in The Dink, joining Andy Roddick, whose casting was confirmed in September alongside Mary Steenburgen, Ed Harris and Ben Stiller. Stiller and Johnson are also credited among the film’s producers.
Details regarding Fineman’s character are currently being kept under wraps.
The Dink is being directed by Josh Greenbaum (Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar; Will & Harper) from a screenplay by Sean Clements (Workaholics; Unstable). Production began Monday in Los Angeles.
Now in her sixth season at SNL, Fineman made her feature film debut in the 2022 Netflix comedy Home Team starring Kevin James and SNL alum Rob Schneider. That same year she played Marion Davies in Damien Chazelle’s Babylon. Her more recent movie credits include Megalopolis and Despicable Me 4.
Over the summer she shot her first starring role in a feature film, the Hulu  original comedy Summer of 69.
