Mr. Maher is going to Washington. Bill Maher confirmed on his Club Random podcast that plans are indeed afoot for him to meet with President Trump.
“Kid Rock was here a couple of weeks ago, and he said ‘I want you to meet Trump. I’m going to take you to the White House.’ So now we’re going do that,” the Real Time host revealed. The moment came in a conversation with comedian and podcaster Andrew Schulz, who voiced his agreement with Maher’s plans.
“There will be lots of people on the left who will be like, ‘How dare you talk to this man,’” Maher, a frequent critic of the president, noted.
“F*ck you, I’m not playing this game that you mean girls play, where you can’t sit at my lunch table because I’m just not talking to you,” Maher said, preemptively responding to the hypothetical criticism. “Not talking to you? You lost the election. Who the f*ck do you think you have to talk to?”
“It’s one thing if you win it,” he added. “It’s another thing if you lose it.”
Maher went on to recognize his rocky relationship with Trump. That includes countless comments lobbed in both directions—and a stranger-than-fiction $5 million lawsuit that Trump filed against Maher twelve years ago. (Appearing on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno in 2013, Maher joked that he would donate that sum to charity if Trump produced a birth certificate to prove he was not the “spawn of his mother having sex with an orangutan.” Trump provided it, then briefly sued Maher to force the $5 million donation.)
“[Trump]’s gonna talk to me. Who’s been meaner than me?” said Maher. “I asked my staff once… [to] just write down all the things he said [about me] in tweets and at rallies. It’s five pages long.”
Maher didn’t indicate when his Trump visit might take place. Kid Rock had previously stated in an interview that it would occur late this month.
I try hard not to dislike him but it’s always something worse. I know these folks in show business from my growing up life – not important but if you know … you know, it’s just a game and this mean girl table is ridiculous – Trump is not a high school bully ‘ he’s taking down our constitution and so Mahr wants attention by being a so called rebel ! it’s so see through-
