Anthony Anderson to Guest Host Jimmy Kimmel Live! Week of July 15

Anthony Anderson is taking his seat behind Jimmy Kimmel‘s desk once again.

The Black-ish star will guest host Jimmy Kimmel Live! during the week of July 15. This marks the fourth time Anderson has guest hosted the program, having previously done so in 2020, 2021, and 2022.

Anderson has played a staple role in the show’s history. He co-hosted alongside Kimmel during the show’s second and third seasons, and he has also appeared as a guest numerous times. Between guesting, guest hosting, and co-hosting, the actor/comedian has appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! a whopping 57 times.

Kimmel and Anderson go way back as both co-hosts and friends. “Always a good time with friend @JimmyKimmel at @JimmyKimmelLive tonight!” Anderson posted on Instagram in March.

At the 2020 Primetime Emmy Awards, the duo made headlines when they chanted “Black Lives Matter” together repeatedly during the ceremony. In January, Anderson was tapped to host the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he revealed that he’d reached out to Kimmel—who has hosted the Emmys three times—for advice.

Kimmel’s biggest tip for Anderson? Just be himself.

“Just be true to myself and be humorous,” Anderson repeated Kimmel’s advice. “Make sure that I’m in the writing room. Make sure that the writers capture my voice. Make sure that I’m available in case there is something that happens live and in the moment.”

No word yet on Anderson’s guests next week. Martin Short kicked off this summer’s lineup of Kimmel guest hosts, while Kathryn Hahn and Kumail Nanjiani will share duties this week.
