The Guardian reports that protesters calling on CBS to reverse The Late Show‘s cancellation marched ten boxes of signed petitions from Colbert’s Ed Sullivan Theater to Paramount’s Times Square headquarters Wednesday afternoon.

In a guest column for Variety, the Massachusetts senator (and 15-time Colbert guest) writes, “it is a threat to all of us that the top late-night show in the country may have been canceled in order to curry favor with a wannabe king.”

The actress, who stars in Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night this summer in Central Park, was Stephen Colbert’s first guest since he announced his cancellation last week. Taking his hand, she declared, “To CBS and Paramount—a plague on both your houses!”
