The TV Academy will announce its nominees for outstanding variety series and outstanding reality series on Today between 4:45am and 5:20am PT Wednesday morning, nearly three hours before the rest of this year’s Emmy nominations.

Roy Wood Jr. is set to host the 2026 Sports Emmys (on May 26), while Amber Ruffin and Michael Ian Black will split News and Documentary duties (May 27-28)—in ceremonies held at Lincoln Center.

The indie streamer’s comedy makeover show Very Important People will go up against the likes of Saturday Night Live, The Late Show, and Last Week Tonight in the newly merged talk–variety race. [via Variety]
