WATCH: Colin Jost Welcomes Departing SNLers to Ryder Cup Livestream

Michael Longfellow, Devon Walker, and Emil Wakim, all of whom exited Saturday Night Live ahead of the show’s upcoming 51st season, were back on screen with Colin Jost this weekend.

The trio appeared as guest commentators on Jost’s live Ryder Cup morning show, T-Mobile Breakfast at Bethpage, which streamed on Peacock throughout the biannual golf competition on Long Island.

Longfellow was the first to join the broadcast, and Jost didn’t hesitate to nod to the circumstances. “He recently found out that he was going to have some time off this fall,” Jost joked, to Longfellow’s amusement, “and he headed straight to the golf course.”

Jost also rolled a clip of Longfellow’s swing, noting he’d seen the comic’s surprisingly solid golf skills firsthand. The two bantered their way through technical glitches while riffing on golf and the tournament itself. Fellow SNL cast member Marcello Hernández followed with his own segment, chatting with Jost between tosses to comedian Hannah Berner. (Jost and Hernández later recorded extra content for T-Mobile.)

When Walker and Wakim joined Jost on Saturday’s show, the subject of SNL unemployment didn’t come up directly. Walker did, however, lean into the moment: “I’m looking for business opportunities. I’m looking for investors,” he joked. “Anything you want to send me, I’m open and I’m available. I’d just like to put that out there while we’re here.”

As the trio dealt with more technical hiccups, their commentary bounced between Ryder Cup highlights and their own swings—helpfully cued up by Jost on video once again.

Jost also got reflective, recalling how he once slept overnight in a van at Bethpage Black as a teenager, waiting for a tee time. “I was kind of emotional coming back and seeing the place where I slept in a van,” he admitted.

Walker confirmed his exit from SNL last month, describing it as a mutual decision after three seasons. Wakim revealed his fate two days later, calling the news a “gut punch.” News of Longfellow’s departure came the following day.

Jost and Hernández are set to return to Saturday Night Live for the Season 51 premiere this Saturday, October 4.
