Tiffany Haddish Gets Her Jimmy Kimmel Moment: ‘The White House Is Mad at Me!’

Tiffany Haddish may have found the surest sign that she’s made it as a late-night guest host: the White House is responding to her monologue jokes.

On Wednesday’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Haddish revealed that the Trump administration had issued a response to a joke she made the previous night about the president’s bruised hands.

“The president is very focused on issues that matter right now, and apparently, I’m one of them,” Haddish explained. “I got a shout out from the White House today. For real, y’all.”

The joke in question came during Tuesday’s monologue, after Haddish riffed on Trump getting FIFA involved on behalf of Team USA before its World Cup loss to Belgium.

“People are blaming Donald Trump for the loss after he got FIFA to help Team USA,” Haddish said in the earlier clip. “It seems like everything Trump touches dies. Which I guess is why his tiny hands are all [bleep] up. Or maybe that’s from grabbing Nicki’s Barbz by the [bleep].”

USA Today asked the White House for comment, prompting spokesman Davis Ingle to respond, “Who the hell is Tiffany Haddish?”

That, naturally, gave Haddish her in.

“Who am I?” she fired back. “I’m the bitch you walk past to get to your seat in coach! Who am I? I’m a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model! That’s who I am.”

Then came the counter-question: “Who the [bleep] is Davis Ingle? Is that a new character on Little House on the Prairie? In the White House? You’re in the wrong house.”

Haddish appeared more delighted than offended by the attention.

“This is exciting,” she said. “The White House is mad at me! This is the day I finally became Jimmy Kimmel!”

She did, however, have one practical concern: “If the president pulls me off the air, do I still get paid for the whole week?”

Guillermo’s answer: “Sorry, I don’t think so.”
