Late-Night Talkers Are All-New This Week, for First Time in a Month

The late-night talk show machine will be operating at full capacity this week—for the first time in a month—as Seth Meyers and Jimmy Fallon both return from their spring breaks.

But enjoy it while you can, because one of the Core Four is about to go dark again next Monday.

NBC’s The Late Show with Seth Meyers, which has been MIA the longest, returns from a three-week break tonight, with guests Henry Winkler (promoting the Bob Odenkirk-led action film Normal) and, from Broadway’s Chess, Lea Michele, Aaron Tveit and Nicholas Christopher.

NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon also is back, from a two-week break, with guests Quinta Brunson (Abbott Elementary), Darren Criss (Broadway’s Maybe Happy Ending), and Taylor Dearden (The Pitt), and a musical performance by Thundercat.

Visit LateNighter’s lineups area for updated guest listings for all the late-night shows.

Across the dial, CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert (which took its break the week of March 23) , ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! (which was dark the week of March 30) and Comedy Central’s The Daily Show (which was off the week of April 6) all will continue to air originals. The Late Show, though, is due to go dark again the week of April 27—before kicking off its very final, three-week run. (The cancelled talker’s series finale airs Thursday, May 21.)

As far as the weekly talk programs and their vacation schedules, HBO’s Last Week Tonight with John Oliver returned last night from a two-week break, and HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher was dark back on April 3.

Beyond the talk show scene, NBC’s Saturday Night Live returns from a two-week hiatus May 2, with host/musical guest Olivia Rodrigo and the first of Season 51’s three final episodes. SNL UK (which streams Stateside on Peacock) is back from its very first, one-week break this Saturday, with host Nicola Coughlan and musical guest Foo Fighters.
