It wouldn’t be Saturday Night Live without a musical guest, and Sunday night’s anniversary show is no exception.
The show announced Friday that not one but seven musical guests will be performing at SNL50: The Anniversary Special, with Paul McCartney, Paul Simon, Miley Cyrus, Sabrina Carpenter, Lil Wayne, Brittany Howard, and The Roots are all set to take the the stage in Studio 8H.
All have previously served as musical guests on the show; in fact, three of them (Brittany Howard, Miley Cyrus and The Roots) will be pulling double duty for the show this weekend, performing at both the anniversary show proper on Sunday night and at the Homecoming Concert at Radio City Music Hall on Friday night.
If past anniversary shows are any guide, we wouldn’t be surprised to see at least a few of these acts performing together. The show’s 40th anniversary special featured only four musical performances total, while the show’s 25th featured three.
Notably, of the four artists who performed at SNL40, three are returning to perform this year ,as well: Paul McCartney, Paul Simon, and Miley Cyrus. Kanye West is the only one of that year’s performers not returning (or at least not announced as such).
Saturday Night Live‘s three-hour, live primetime special airs on NBC and Peacock Sunday, February 16, from 8-11pm ET. It will be preceded by a one-hour red carpet special.

The SNL 50 concert was the best live concert in years!
Probably since Live Aid!
How many people under 60 care about Paul Simon? And I doubt many over 60 care.
If he wasn’t Lorne’s friend, there is no way he would be on these SNL anniversary specials. Him showing up is a joke.
I’m underv60 snd absolutely love Paul simon!
Thanks for providing the dumbest comment of the day.
If the anniversary special is like the concert it will be great. I did not know name performers but the talent showed and I was glad to know that the audience was anyone one connected with SNL, classy
