SNL Sets Dates for Thanksgiving and Christmas Specials

Concerned that you might miss one of the various specials Saturday Night Live producers have promised as part of the show’s monumental 50th season? Don’t worry your Schweddy Balls about it, LateNighters—we’ve got all the details.

Just a few hours before Monday’s SNL Election Special debuted, NBC announced the titles, dates and times, and some brief details about a pair of holiday-themed episodes that will air over the next several weeks.

First up is A Saturday Night Live Thanksgiving, a collection of SNL’s most memorable Turkey Day-themed sketches from all 50 seasons. The two-hour special will air on Thanksgiving Eve—Wednesday, November 27—beginning at 9 p.m.

Just three weeks later, A Saturday Night Live Christmas will curate another two hours’ worth of some of the show’s funniest yuletide moments for another new special that will kick off on Wednesday, December 18 at 9 p.m. It will get an encore broadcast on Monday, December 23 beginning at 8 p.m.

These upcoming specials are just a few of the ways that Lorne Michaels and his SNL cast and crew (past and present) are pulling out all the stops for Saturday Night Live’s landmark 50th season.

In addition to multiple specials, fans will also be treated to several documentaries as well as a whopping three-hour-long SNL50 Primetime Special, which will air on February 16, 2025.
