Saturday Night Live has promoted two longtime members of its talent team ahead of its Season 52 premiere.
The moves come after SNL parted ways with longtime music booker Brian Siedlecki. In August, THR reported that Siedleck’s contract was not renewed after nearly 30 years with the show.
Keri Powers has now been elevated to serve as the sole head of SNL’s Talent Department, expanding her role overseeing the team responsible for booking the show’s hosts, musical guests, and guest stars.
Powers has been with Saturday Night Live for 12 years, most recently serving as a talent producer.
Rebecca Schwartz, another 12-year veteran of the show’s talent team, has been promoted to producer. In her new role, Schwartz will take on increased responsibilities supporting SNL’s cast and production efforts. Insiders tell LateNighter she was spotted seated next to Lorne Michaels during this season’s in-studio screen tests.
Prior to Siedlecki’s departure, Powers and Schwartz had worked alongside him as longtime members of the show’s booking operation.
The promotions come as SNL prepares to kick off its 52nd season Saturday night.
SNL returns Sept. 26 at 11:30 p.m. ET/8:30 p.m. PT on NBC and Peacock, with New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson making his hosting debut and KATSEYE serving as musical guest.
