SNL Announces First Round of Anniversary Special Guests

Saturday Night Live has offered a tantalizing first glimpse at its list of special guests for SNL50: The Anniversary Special, and unsurprisingly it’s a who’s who of heavy hitters.

Among those set to appear on the three-hour primetime special are Adam Driver, Ayo Edebiri, Bad Bunny, Dave Chappelle, John Mulaney, Kim Kardashian, Martin Short, Miley Cyrus, Paul McCartney, Paul Simon, Pedro Pascal, Peyton Manning, Quinta Brunson, Robert De Niro, Sabrina Carpenter, Scarlett Johansson, Steve Martin, Tom Hanks and Woody Harrelson.

Each of the actors, musicians, and comedians in this first reveal have all been hosts or musical guests on the program over its five-decade run. More guests, including many of the show’s famous alumni, will be revealed at a later date.

Today’s news came in the form of a just-released promo for the special (above). Information on SNL‘s weekend-long celebration is being doled out as the date approaches. The lineup of performers for the Friday-night event at Radio City Music Hall, SNL50: The Homecoming Concert, were announced late last week.

As for the anniversary special itself, like previous celebrations for its 15th, 25th and 40th anniversaries, it will be produced in the show’s longtime home, NBC’s Studio 8H, before an audience stacked with luminaries from its legendary 50-year run. (Extra seating is being added to the studio to help accommodate the overflow crowd.)

Saturday Night Live‘s three-hour, live primetime special airs on NBC Sunday, February 16, from 8-11pm ET. It will be preceded by a one-hour red carpet special.
