Shane Gillis, Lady Gaga to Host SNL in March

With its all-star 50th anniversary celebration over, it’s back to work for the regular SNL cast crew, with the show announcing the hosts for its first two shows in March.

Comedian, actor, and podcaster Shane Gillis is set to host the show’s March 1st episode with musical guest Tate McRae. A week later, Lady Gaga will serve as both host and musical guest on March 8th.

All three have history with Saturday Night Live.

Gillis hosted a year ago this month. He is the star and co-creator of the series Tires, which returns to Netflix later this year for its second season.

The firebrand comic was famously hired and then quickly fired as an SNL castmember ahead of the show’s 45th season.

Gaga has enjoyed her own long history with the show, performing double duty once before—in November of 2013—and has served as musical guest three times, in 2009, 2011, and 2016.

Most recently, she was a featured performer at SNL‘s homecoming concert and an attendee at Sunday’s anniversary special. Lady Gaga’s new album MAYHEM releases March 7.

Tate McRae wil be making her second appearance on SNL, in support of her own new album, “So Close to What.” She previously appeared on the show in November of 2023.

Saturday Night Live has been on break since late January preparing for its celebratory weekend The show’s staff now gets a week off before returning to the office next Monday for the first of two new episodes. It will then take another two-week break, returning March 29th.
