Ratings: Colbert Handily Wins Tues Dec 3, 2024

CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert won the late night ratings race with room to spare Tuesday, December 3rd, 2024, drawing 2,118,000 total viewers and 259,000 viewers in the 18-49 demo. Colbert’s guest Tuesday night was Selena Gomez, with Seth Meyers also appearing in a segment that saw him take The Colbert Questionert.

ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! and NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon split second place in the 11:35 p.m. timeslot, with Kimmel nabbing second among total viewers, and Fallon the runner-up among viewers 18-49. Kimmel’s guests Tuesday were Jude Law, Kyle Mooney, and Denzel Curry. Fallon welcomed Amy Adams, Fortune Feimster, and Dan + Shay.

With NBC’s  Late Night with Seth Meyers airing repeats all week, CBS’ After Midnight with Taylor Tomlinson  took the top prize at 12:35 a.m. across both key measurements, averaging 746,000 total viewers and 133,000 in the demo. Tomlinson’s panelists Tuesday were Josh Thomas, Brandon Kyle Goodman, and Suzi Barrett.

ABC’s Nightline came in second in the time slot among total viewers with 732,000, edging out Late Night with Seth Meyers at 639,000. The two shows traded places among younger viewers, with Meyers averaging 83,000 P18-49 vs Nightline‘s 68,000

Late Night aired a repeat from November 4th featuring Keri Russell and J.B. Smoove.

The Daily Show (which was dark all Thanksgiving week, with Comedy Central airing other programming in its timeslot) saw nice pickup compared to its most recent Tuesday night episode (Nov 19), logging a week-over-week increase among total viewers of 21%, and 32% among 18-49 year-olds. Ronny Chieng hosted Tuesday night’s episode with guest Neil deGrasse Tyson.
