CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert was late night’s ratings leader for the third night in a row Wednesday, December 4th, averaging 1,742,000 total viewers and 198,000 viewers in the key 18-49 demo (up +46% and +8% week-over-week).
Colbert’s guests Wednesday night were Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen, with a performance from Doechii.
ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! and NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon split second place in the 11:35 p.m. timeslot, with Kimmel claiming second among total viewers, and Fallon the runner-up among viewers 18-49. Kimmel’s guests Wednesday were Tyler Perry, Anthony Jeselnik, and Lauren Mayberry, while Fallon welcomed Ice-T and his band Body Count, and Isabella Rossellini.
Although NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers was dark last week, a repeat of its November 11th episode (featuring guests Jim Parsons and Wendi McLendon-Covey) still managed to outdraw a new episode of CBS’ After Midnight with Taylor Tomlinson Wednesday night across both key measurements. Tomlinson’s panel featured Rachel Scanlon, Taylor Ortega, and Jared Goldstein.
A new episode of The Daily Show hosted by Ronny Chieng with guest Tom Colicchio made modest gains among total viewers, and lost -17% of viewers vs its most recent Wednesday episode (on November 20th), which was hosted by Desi Lydic.
